ArenaNet may unleash some expansions for Guild Wars 2 (GW2) in the future, but for now none are currently in development according to Game Director Colin Johanson. Speaking with IGN, Johanson served up some his thoughts on expansions for the popular buy-to-play MMORPG.

"Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future,” said Johanson. “We don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as possibly can for the players that we’ve got."

Luckily for GW2 fans, ArenaNet hasn’t been dragging its feet with new content. The developer recently launched the second part of its Flame & Frost update series on February 26th with another update slated to release later this month and deliver even more content, story, and possible new features.

You can check out a brief segment of Johanson’s interview over at IGN. The full interview will be available next week.
