It’s still unclear exactly what BioWare has planned for the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC slated for release sometime this summer. The DLC was announced following a fan backlash over the game’s controversial ending to add “closure and clarity” for fans.

In a recent interview with G4TV, Lance Henriksen, who voices the character of Admiral Steven Hackett, talked a bit about his recent recording session for the DLC.

I just did another session with them...They were saying there's a little bit of a problem with the abruptness of the ending," Hendriksen said. "So we did a whole series of things to add to the end of the game, to live up to the quality they've been doing.

Tricia Helfer, who voiced EDI, and Raphael Sbarge, who voiced Kaiden Alenko have also confirmed additional voice work for the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut.

The Mass Effect 3 ending has prompted protests from gamers calling for a better ending, some even going so far as to raise more than $80,000 for Child’s Play Charity and send 402 cupcakes to BioWare as a symbol of their discontent with the ending.
