Earlier today Kotaku caught sight of a reported leak of new multiplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3 titled Rebellion that was reportedly scheduled to release today in Asia. Kotaku pointed to a page on Sony’s Hong Kong PlayStation website that appears to have been removed since the story ran. As it turns out, the Rebellion DLC dropped in as a rumor a couple of weeks back and BioWare Community Coordinator Chris Priestly recently debunked its impending release. In a post to the BioWare forums, Priestly wrote:

Sorry folks, this is not true. There is no ME3 MP DLC coming out tomorrow. This is the internet and you cannot "unsee" things, but the details in this are not correct.

I am not going to close this or anything as the rumor will continue to spread whether I do or not, but please refer people to my post here when it comes up.

We will have more information on ME3 MP DLC in the future, I hope later this month, but nothing more to be said now.

Aside from the day 1 DLC, From Ashes, the only other DLC content to be released since Mass Effect 3’s March 6th launch is the free Resurgence multiplayer pack. Unfortunately, BioWare has still offered no details about when players can expect to receive the free “Extended Cut” DLC that will address the controversial ending to Mass Effect 3 that has prompted both backlash and protests from the community.

BioWare is still running silent when it comes to discussing the Extended Cut but their community is not. More than two months after the game’s launch, Mass Effect 3’s ending is still one of the most talked about subjects on the official forums.
