If there were any doubts that Guild Wars 2 might do well once it launches they may have been put to rest recently when NCsoft told Joystiq.com that Guild Wars has sold over 6.5 million units since its 2005 launch. This is certainly good news for NCsoft who will be looking to duplicate and improve upon that success with the game's sequel. After learning a harsh lesson with the now cancelled MMOG Tabula Rasa, NCsoft isn't taking any chances with the release of Guild Wars 2 by approaching the game's launch date with the Blizzard-esque "it's ready when it's ready" approach.
