Nexon America boosts EXP for MapleStory players, allowing players increased access to growing content

Nexon America announced it has permanently increased the experience point (EXP) curve for its more than six million registered MapleStory users in North America. The change in the EXP curve will accelerate access to the large chunks of exciting new content being added to the game on a regular basis. Last week, Nexon added a major expansion to the game delivering an entirely new set of classes with the addition of the Cygnus Knights.

MapleStory, which celebrated its fourth anniversary of service in North America in May, is a 2D side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game. MapleStory allows players to take on a number of roles including warrior, magician, bowman or thief. Players can band together in guilds to fight monsters and explore dungeons, play mini-games, upgrade their characters in the Nexon Cash Shop or socialize online. MapleStory features cute and colorful graphics and is played by more than 92 million players worldwide.

Along with the massive increase in MapleStory’s content, Nexon took cues from the success of several events where the EXP curve was temporarily accelerated. These events were a big hit with MapleStory players. The increased EXP curve has been touted by Maplers as creating a friendlier experience. New players reach levels quicker and enjoy more of the exciting content offered in MapleStory at a quicker rate.

“The world of MapleStory is considerably larger than when it was first released,” said Min Kim, Nexon America’s vice president of marketing. “Accelerating the EXP rates empowers old and new users alike to better explore the MapleWorld.”

The EXP increase is currently implemented in the game. For more information about the free-to-play downloadable game, MapleStory, go to: www.maplestory.nexon.net.
