Perhaps taking a hint from the success of The Secret World’s Facebook game, The Secret War, SOE has taken to Facebook to engage the community in a new sort of quest to gain some in-game items. Starting this month and every month through September, SOE will post a "Facebook quest" for EverQuest and EverQuest II, and if the community is able to meet the objective by the deadline, they’ll receive a reward at the end of each quest.

This month’s objective is to get 1,000 new followers on the EverQuest and EverQuest II Facebook pages. If the objective is met, players that have logged into the games since they went free-to-play will receive 500 Station Cash.

This month's quest is quite modest, one that we expect you will accomplish handily. The goal of this quest is to increase Facebook followers for EverQuest or EverQuest II respectively by 1,000. Starting on May 17, 2012 (at 10:00 am PST), we'll record the number of followers for each page. If, by June 17, 2012, your game's Facebook community has achieved the goal of 1,000 additional followers, we will award every player who has logged into that game since it went free-to-play with 500 Station Cash!

Each following month will bring a similar objective and its own reward. The final month will be a competition between the EverQuest and EverQuest II communities with the winner receiving a Double Experience Weekend.
