You may remember Gaikai from their recent partnerships with TERA, Dungeons & Dragons Online and The Lord of the Rings Online to stream short demos of the games via browser. It appears that Sony has taken a bit of a liking to Gaikai’s technology, so much so that they’ve just announced that they'll be acquiring the company for $380 million.

With this new asset soon to be under Sony’s control, it should be interesting to see how they choose to utilize it in the future for both Sony Online Entertainment games and the PSN. Stay tuned and we’ll update you when we have more.
