TERA's Associate Producer Stefan Remirez promised that TERA would launch this year at GDC 2011, but those plans seem to have changed according to a new Producer's Letter released today by Producer Chris "Chager" Hager. The latest update reveals that TERA's launch date has been pushed back to spring of 2012.
Delays are nothing new to the world of MMORPG development, but there is some good news for fans looking to get a shot at trying out the game before its official release next year. Hager announced in his letter that the team will begin an Alpha testing phase later this year. Most of the testing thus far has consisted of focused community play test events. A beta phase is also planned to begin in early 2012.
TERA released in Korea earlier this year. Check out the full Producer's Letter and official press release after the break for more.
