Vietnam is the latest country to join the online gaming regulation bandwagon as a recent report from Vietnam's state-run news agency details new measures implemented by the Ministry of Information, placing limitations on online gaming. New restrictions have been put in place on public Internet access, placing a ban on advertisements of online games, and cutting services from 11:00pm to 6:00am from shops that offer public PC use. The government has also put a temporary stop on online game licensing.

The restrictions are valid through the end of the year at which time the ministry expects the government to have approved drafted online gaming regulations. One of the new measures being pushed for is an Electronic ID to monitor and control online and mobile gaming.

The changes come following a public outcry blaming online games for an increase in juvenile crime and school truancy.
