Star Citizen Breaks $17 Million

Chris Roberts new space game is becoming an unstoppable juggernaut that acts as a cash magnet.

It really feels like every week that I read about Star Citizen that the game has made yet another million dollars. This week the unstoppable juggernaut known as Star Citizen sailed right past another milestone, leaving the $17 million mark in the wind. Star Citizen backers were granted access to the new Hangar Module earlier this week and the next stretch goal will open an exclusive star system for pre-launch backers at the $18 million mark. Given that it’s already well on its way to hitting that, we’ll probably be writing about it next week.

Let that be a lesson to the many publishers who foolishly believed that PC gaming and the space game genre were dead. This venture set out with the modest goal of raising a mere $500,000 on Kickstarter for its development. I think fan support kind of speaks for itself on this one.

Thanks to Ricoxg for the heads up.
