Ten Ton Hammer Video of the Day

No, actually, don't ignore the man behind the curtain...

It's not often that developers will reveal a work-in-progress while it's very early in the development process. Even so, Richard "Lord British" Garriott and his Portalarium crew are doing just that with Shroud of the Avatar, their Kickstarter-funded project that just knocked its funding goal out of the park.

The video starts with an introduction to the project and its key players, and gets into a real game play demo at about 21 minutes in. (You can skip straight to the good stuff if you like.) Garriott points out that what we're seeing in the live demo is a game that's only three months along. Even so, this demo is more representative of what the game will look like than any we've seen previously.

I'm digging the Tesla Tower. All hail Nikola Tesla!

Are you an Ultima Online fan eager to see what Shroud of the Avatar (which would be named Ultima Online 2 if that were legally possible) has to offer? Go ahead and talk about it in the comments below.
