This past week the on the Ten Ton Hammer network many of our staff were super busy with two huge ga mining events. Even those that did not go to the event ended up being tied up with the events for much of the week. Those two events were: SOE's Fan Faire and gamescon all the way over the pond in Cologne, Germany.

For those that haven't checked out the coverage of these two events yet, you really need to a lot went on between the two of them. At SOE Fan Faire a new expansion was announced, there was a chance for a hands on with DC Universe, a look at Sony's security token, and much more. Also for all you out there that still believe girls don't play games, check out the video from Jeff and Ben covering the SOE Fan Faire Pool Party. Meanwhile in Germany at gamescon there was a look at Battlestar Galactica Online, TERA, LOCO, Guild Wars 2 news, and much more.

In WoW news last week the Cataclysm Collectors Edition was announced, the North American Regional Warcraft Finals took place, BlizzCon Contests started, and much more.

All this and more can be found right here at WoW.TenTonHammer.com.

Since WoW content was held back last week due to everyone being busy with the events, lets take a look back at some of the past big Cataclysm Articles from the last month.

The Zone Aquatic – Exploring the Zone of Vashj’ir

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm promises to bring something very new to the game in the form of an entirely new underwater zone called Vashj’ir. This zone allows you to imitate Jacques Cousteau exploring the underwater depths, or given the number of bad jokes and puns in the zone maybe you are to imitate Bill Murry from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. No matter your favourite undersea adventurer, Byron “Messiah” Mudry is positive you’ll enjoy your own opportunity to explore this expansive zone.

Thin Air – Climbing Mount Hyjal: A Zone Preview

Cataclysm will be bringing a lot of new things to the game World of Warcraft. It will also be bringing back a few old things, such as access to Mount Hyjal. The last time the legendary area was available to players was through the raid instance “Battle of Mount Hyjal” in the Burning Crusade. Now in Cataclysm players will be able to more fully explore the zone that houses the World Tree, Nordrassil.

Cataclysm Preview Q&A: Redesigning Darkshore

In Cataclysm, the upcoming third expansion for World of Warcraft, much of the world of Azeroth as we know it today has undergone some fairly major changes. New zones have been added but plenty of old world zones have also been given both a visual and content pass that will make them just as vital as they were when the game first launched nearly six years ago.

Darkshore is one such zone, and game designers Luis Barriga and Craig Amai sat down with us to discuss upcoming changes to Darkshore's landscape, the fate of Auberdine, and the challenges of redesigning an old-world zone from the ground up in this exclusive World of Warcraft: Cataclysm content preview.
