The Closed Beta for Gigantic begins on August 28, with a fairly sizable chunk of new testers being brought in to help test the game during this critical stage of development. If you haven’t signed up for a chance to participate, you can do so by scooting your booty over to the official Gigantic website.

For those of you eager to dive into the game on PC, there are a few things to be aware of to make sure your system is ready. We’ve put together some useful info below to help get you started. You’ll also want to be on the lookout for our complete Hero Build Guides, coming soon to a Ten Ton Hammer near you!

In the meantime, we’ve also put together a Community Tier List for Gigantic that allows players to vote on where each Hero ranks. Please note that the current version of the tier list is based on the most recent public demo builds for the game. As new information on playable heroes becomes available we’ll be updating the Tier List as needed.

Another thing to be aware of is that the NDA is still in effect at this point. If you are selected to participate, we encourage everyone to be respectful of the NDA, so don't attempt to ninja-stream your tweets to your facebook reddits or whatever you crazy kids do these days. Motiga has stated that some big plans for the NDA lift will be revealed soon, so we'll be sure to let our readers know as soon as any new info becomes available.

Windows 10 - The Balance of Art and Commerce

One of the biggest things to note is that Gigantic will only be playable by those of you who have upgraded to 64-Bit Windows 10, and this extends to the Closed Beta. The team at Ten Ton Hammer fully encourages our fellow PC gamers to adopt Win10 for a number of reasons, and the process is not as scary or painful as you might think. You also can’t beat the price of the upgrade, which is currently 100% free for anyone running Windows 7 and above.

If you’re interested in participating in the Closed Beta for Gigantic, you’ll need to take the Win10 plunge if you haven’t already done so. You can learn more about Windows 10 and get started on your journey into the future of PC gaming by visiting this handy page.

Another consideration will be your GPU. The short version here is that you’ll need to have a video card that is DirectX 11 compatible. To check if your current GPU is compatible, you can view a list of DX11 supported cards at the links below.

You’ll also want to be sure to update your drivers to make sure they’re compatible with Windows 10 64-Bit which you can download from the appropriate site linked above.

Last, but certainly not least, the official website also has a handy guide to help you determine if your system is ready for Gigantic. You can find the system requirements and other useful info here.

Work with Your Team, and Have Fun

This may be an obvious one, but don’t forget to have fun if you’re invited to participate in the Gigantic Closed Beta. While the game is focused sharply on competition, taking the time to work with your team and have fun with it will make a better beta experience for everyone involved. Don’t sweat the losses, and congratulate your teammates on your victories.

Previous experience playing MMO arenas and select MOBAs can help when first starting out, but I can’t recommend enough approaching the game with an open mind and positive attitude. Be supportive of your teammates, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when first starting out.
