Not just humans in the Federation

More details are emerging about the gameplay of Star Trek Online as we eagerly await the gameplay trailer promised us this Sunday. When it was said that players could play either as Federation or Klingon, it seems it was less about character race and more about political facitons.

According to Cryptic chief creative officer Jack Emmert, players will begin their voyage as the captain of a small Starfleet or Klingon Empire ship, able to customize their characters as previously existing Star Trek species or create entirely new races. As with the sci-fi series, exploration and scientific discovery remains a prominent focus.

No word yet if the Klingons would be so tolerant.
