1. Daily Column

It's been a good long time, but there is finally a new comic up. This one didn't appear from the ether between my ears, but rather was the result of blood, sweat and tears on Shariat's part. Enjoy.

While I'm on the topic of cartoons, animation and the like, remember that South Park episode, "Make Love, Not Warcraft"? Well it won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, besting such behemoths as Avatar, The Simpsons and even the TTH favourite, Spongebob Squarepants. How exactly do you feel about living in a society where a cartoon that has a boy defecating on his mother wins an arguably prestigious award? Wouldn't we all be much more content if the award went to a patty flipping yellow sponge that lives in a place called Bikini Bottom? Yes we would. Yessssssssss! Yesssssssss! Wooooooooooooooo!

What was interesting about that episode to me, was that I don't watch South Park; I get enough potty humour right here or in Coyote's Blog, yet I felt compelled to view "Make Love, Not Warcraft". It was obvious to me that the writers of the show weren't hardcore players as they missed some obvious knee-slappers, but what they did accomplish was a show that appealed to both WoW haters and WoW lovers. The haters laughed at the players and the players, well, they also laughed at the players. Genius!

South Park is an influencer. Blizzard took full advantage. My shiny mail hat is off to them. Well played. Well played.

Way off topic, but Canadian Idol ended last night. I don't watch the show, but my wife sure does. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy music as much as the next guy, but I don't require four people I've never heard of before to judge what is exceptional and what isn't. I certainly don't ask for the general public's vote to resolve who their favourite is. I can already deduce that by perusing a Top 40 list.

I did enjoy this guy. He didn't make the top gajillion, but in my books he came in first.
