1. Daily Column

First up, thanks to Brasse who posted a perfect parody of our own RadarX and Coyote. I'd say the comic is completely accurate with one change. The last line from Coyote should have been, "Is your chest hairy too, and if so can I touch it?" Thank you Brasse. That is comedy gold.

Our podcast has been resurrected with a "threesome", or so says Garrett. The best part of the new podcasts is that unlike the old ones you don't need to listen to me discuss the industry. Instead we brought in editors who are shackled by things like facts and editorial responsibility. I remain unhobbled by such fetters as is evidenced by this daily column.

The story of the day however is that for the first time ever a couple has been married simultaneously in both the virtual and real world. Norrath and SOE FanFaire were the venues. Nathan and Kelly were the participants. Tony Jones sat down with the happy couple and had a chat. Not to throw a dark cloud over such a joyful event, but have there ever been in-game divorces carried out? If so, did the unhappily married couple sit down before a virtual judge and virtually divide up their virtual belongings? On the bright side there were no virtual kids to worry about, though procreating in a MMOG should be on some developer's list. I can see Coyote strutting into some EQ2 tavern where he meets some High Elf tart from Utah, hooks up and nine virtual months later he's giving the how'd de doo to a NPC named Coyote Jr. I'd pay to play that game. They wouldn't even have to comp me.

So much more...after the jump

Carl Cascone also takes a look at making character creation fun in his most recent Op/Ed. Character creation is a topic that is near and dear to many gamers' hearts, but since it is a task that is completed and never returned to it is often not given the thought that it deserves. Those of you that have never played City of Heroes or City of Villains should take a minute and read Carl's article. Done? Excellent! Now imagine if you will a game like World of Warcraft, EverQuest 2 or Tabula Rasa with those same customization abilities. Do you see where this is going?

I'd love to hear from you about virtual marriages, character creation and even about Coyote. Oh, I'd love to hear from you about Coyote.

Breaking news: Age of Conan has been delayed from October 30, 2007 until March 2008. We will now have to wait until March to hear our own Phil Comeau say, "To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. This is what I enjoy most about Age of Conan."
