Thanks for taking some time out of your day to read this column. I truly appreciate it. If you happen to use Twitter, you can follow me @BoomjackTTH. I rarely use Facebook, but I do occasionally post gaming related tidbits on Google+ where you can find me under my real moniker John Hoskin.
Atramedes has been soloed. Mionelol, famous for soloing other bosses did it with a hunter this time. In other World of Warcraft news 51 epic gem cuts have appeared on the Public Test Realm, each costing five Illustrious Jewelcrafter’s Tokens. If you are a jewelcrafter, get those dailies done before patch 4.3.
Those of you looking forward to Star Wars:The Old Republic will be interested to know that it will not support addons. Forget Recount, Deadly Boss Mods or any of your other favourites porting over to SWTOR.
Personally, without the addons that make my MMOG experience unique I probably wouldn’t have continued to play WoW as long as I have. There are times when I long for the “old days” of EverQuest and EverQuest 2 where I played with the vanilla U.I., but they soon disappear when I use recount to practice a new spec on a target dummy or use PlayerScore to make sure that I’m making the best choices when I roll on gear.
Bioware is putting a lot of pressure on themselves to build what the player wants. Where Blizzard let the players build the addons and then eventually took the popular ones and implemented them into the base U.I., SWTOR will need to find ways to garner this information by some other means.
No addons also means that it will be more challenging for database sites to build out their information.
Good and bad. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Do you use addons? Would you prefer an addon-free environment? Let me know!
That’s it for today. Thanks again for reading and as always, may your dreams be big and your worries be small.
As always, you can contact me a number of ways:
Until we meet again,
