Welcome to this sixth day of March, 2015. I’m John “Boomjack” Hoskin and this is Here Comes The Boom – EP #28.
It's Friday! The weekend is almost upon us (not to mention PAX) and the announcements are flying in.
I'm not ashamed to say that I played a lot of Guitar Hero and when Rock Band came out I had no choice except to play it too. Rock Band 2 proved to be even more fun as by then my exhuberance for the genre had rubbed off on those around me. The big draw for me was not the gameplay itself, which I actually found pretty rudimentary, but that my kids and wife played with me. It was a great way to put the family in one room and have some fun. it also allowed me to act like a fool without embarrassing them in public. It was a win-win.
My son loved the drums and always sped across the house to the drumsticks to get them before I could claim them. My daughter has a fantastic voice, so she grabbed the mic before me, much to the joy of the rest of the family. Having me sing was a wondrous experience for me, but my obviously tone deaf family disagreed. My crooning often ended with my loving family forcibly removing the mic from my hand.
You can imagine how thrilled I was to see this video released yesterday.
It appears that your old instruments, DLC and other content will work with this new game. Hurry up Harmonix! I need to once again, step on the stage and sing (or not) with my family.
Did you play Rock Band? What were some of your favourite moments? If you received even an iota of enjoyment from this then please support both myself and TenTonHammer by doing one of more of the following:
