Patches come and go, but the need to make some cold hard cash in World of Warcraft remains an eternal mission for players. If you are one of the many players who are looking for ways to make some extra gold in Patch 6.2, look no further. Below you will find some straightforward and effective ways to fill your bank coffers right to the brim. Read onward and see if you can add any of these methods to aid in your in-game gold making process. Enjoy!

Garrison Gold Missions

Garrison Gold Missions have been one of the easiest ways to earn Gold in the game since their released with Warlords of Draenor. Nothing much has changed in Patch 6.2. Even though the profitability of these missions has been nerfed, they should not be totally written off.

Think about it. With just a few simple clicks, some Garrison Resources, and a small waiting period, you can earn a profit with a minuscule amount of work. Even if you only collect 60 Gold a pop, with so little effort involved, Garrison Gold Missions are well worth completing. So head on into your Garrison Town Hall and make these missions a priority, rather than an afterthought.

Felblight

Move over Savage Blood, there is a new crafting item in town! Felblight was added in Patch 6.2 and can be used to upgrade your gear. With the patch being fairly new and players rushing to upgrade their gear, that makes Felblight and item that is in high demand. Even better, it will likely remain so for quite awhile. Since Felblight can be collected and sold to other players, this means long term profitability to anyone with the gumption to collect it.

Felblight has a chance to be obtained while Herbing, Mining, Fishing, or Skinning inside of Tanaan Jungle. This makes this crafting reagent more difficult to obtain than Savage Blood, but should also make the price higher. Spending the time farming this reagent to sell has the potential to roll in some serious cash. Especially when you consider that farming this item will not only reward you with Felblight, but other sellable reagents as well.

Garrison Buildings

You just can't escape it, the Garrison is one of the prime ways to make money, even in Patch 6.2. Which is why it makes our list twice! Garrison Buildings have always been a decent way to supplement your income. With that being said, the buildings that are most beneficial have changed slightly in this most recent patch. Here are some buildings that are considered must haves to make a profit in Patch 6.2:

War Mill

While the War Mill won't generate any direct profit, it will help you gear up all of your Followers in a hurry. This means higher level missions and more profitable items from said missions.

Barracks

Just like the War Mill, you won't be earning direct profit from this building. However, the Barracks means more Followers and more Followers means more profit!

Trading Post

Use this building for when you are low on resources (and you will be with the Shipyard). With the new abundance of profession materials, it makes sense to change them out. Additionally, if you find yourself with too many Garrison Resources, you can trade those back for whatever professional material is most profitable. Not to mention this building will help you to build reputation with the various factions in Draenor.

Barn

While the Barn may seem pretty obsolete, it isn't dried up yet. Use the Barn to churn out Fur and use it to fuel your Profession Hut Work Orders.

Profession Huts

While having Profession Huts may seem like an odd choice, especially if you haven't learned that specific profession, it does have value. Using the Barn and whatever other method you need, fuel the Work Orders at any of these buildings.

Tailoring

Use Savage Fur to make Hexweave Bags combined with Savage Blood and Sorcerous Water to create Hexweave Essences. This Essence is an item required to upgrade Tailoring gear and can be sold on the Auction House.

Leatherworking

Create Burnished Essences by combining Burnished Leather, Savage Blood, and Sorcerous Water. This item will upgrade gear created through Leatherworking and can be sold on the Auction House.

Jewelcrafting

With your Jewelcrafting Hut you will want to focus on completing the Daily Quest here that rewards straight up gold. For some extra income you can create Rings and Amulets that can be placed up for sale on the Auction House.

Medallion of the Legion

The Medallion of the Legion is a new item released in Patch 6.2 that does one simple, yet vital, thing; increases reputation with the denizens of Draenor by 1,000. This function easily makes it probably the sellable item of this patch so far. With reputation a key part of the new zone, as well as eventually earning your flying skill, this little beauty winds up right in the center of the frantic whirlwind of reputation grinding.

Of course, finding this item isn't exactly easy. There are currently only two ways to find this item, one of which is a rare Garrison Mission known as Eldritch Horrors. As if that wasn't remote enough, the second method of acquiring this item is by defeating these elite mobs found in Tanaan Jungle:

  • Vengeance (32,73)
  • Terrorfist (15,63)
  • Deathtalon (24,40)
  • Doomroller (47,52)

Sounds pretty easy, right? Until you take into consideration that the item only has a 25% to 30% drop rate and only has the chance to drop from these mobs the first time you kill them that day. Even with this complication, farming these little beauties is well worth it. Going for 8,000 to 10,000 gold on most servers, selling even one will net you a nice profit.
