In Rainbow Six Siege, Renown is the currency you will use to unlock new Operators and upgrade them as you go. Getting your hands on renown is not a complex process, in fact you’ll receive some of it for every game you play. Of course you’ll get more of it the better you play and a bonus if you win.

While there is no fast way to consistently farm renown, there are several tasks you can complete to get a couple easy bursts of renown that should be enough to unlock you your first couple operators.

Situations

The single player mode, Situations is meant to prepare you for the multiplayer experience that is the primary focus of the game. It is comprised of different missions that will not only introduce you to some of the most important concepts of the game, they will also reward you with some pretty easy renown for completing them.

Each situation will also have optional objectives that award bonus renown for completing them, like getting a certain amount of headshots before finishing the situation. To get even more renown, you can change the difficulty of the situations. The tougher the difficulty, the more renown you will receive for both the optional objectives and the situation as a whole.

Tutorial Videos

Even if you think you’re good enough to skip the introductory tutorials, you may want to head back and watch them just for the renown. That’s right, just for watching each tutorial video you will receive 200 renown. Watch all the videos and you’ll get an additional 200 on top of that.

This is a great way to start off your Rainbow Six career with some easy renown in the bank.

Booster Packs

If you’re the type that doesn’t mind trading a little cash for some time saved, then you can purchase yourself a renown booster to speed up the process. The boost provides a flat percentage increase on any renown gains during the period of time it’s active, so only grab one when you plan on sitting down for a serious session.

Challenges

After you reach level 3 you’ll gain access to the daily challenges. You will get 3 new challenges each day (5 if you purchased the seasons pass) that can be completed in the multiplayer portion of the game. When completed they give you a bonus 200 renown. Completing challenges is one of the easier ways to gain renown on a regular basis.
