Jan'alai is the Loa who has Dragonhawks at his disposal.
As the final Loa boss, this monster is a bit trickier than the others due to the fact you are encouraged to let his adds do some of their abilities every time they're spawned before you kill them, or you will be in for a nasty surprise at 35% health!
Abilities
Flame Breath: Jan'alai will cast Flame Breath on a random player, and whoever is in the vicinity of the attack, for 4000-5000 fire damage.
Fire Bombs: Jan'alai will create some bombs that will spawn covering most of the ground you're fighting on. Staying away from these is vital since they do a lot of damage.
Summon Amani'shi Hatcher: Every 90 seconds, Jan'alai will summon two Amani'shi Hatchers who will go and open Amani Dragonhawk eggs. Ideally, you will want to let them spawn a few of them each time so that you have to deal with less of them at 35%, but not too many so you get overrun by Dragonhawks early on.
Strategy
Once you engage Jan'alai, you will have 90 seconds for the first time he summons his Amani'shi Hatchers to spawn the Dragonhawk eggs. It's important to not let them spawn too many so your AoE casters aren't overrun, but still let them spawn enough so you take out good chunks of eggs at a time. For every time they spawn eggs, they will double the amount of Dragonhawks spawned.
The Hatchers don't have a lot of HP, however, so they may be killed quickly when the raid is comfortable with the amount of adds generated and killed for the wave.
It is important to remember the above, since at 35%, Jan'alai will call out and pop his remaining eggs himself, so they will all come at once for you - if you took out enough during the battle, it'll be less strain for your raid and your AoE DPS. If you've killed the Hatchers as they spawn, unless you have great AoE and protection for said AoErs, you will most likely wipe due to the sheer amount of Dragonhawks unleashed at once.
Each Dragonhawk has around 5000-6000 HP, so calculate your possibilities around that fact. It's also worthy of note that they use Flame Buffet, increasing fire damage by 2% each time, and will stack indefinitely - dispel this before it becomes a problem on your raid!
It's important to stay semi-spread out to avoid the damage caused by Flame Breath. Some people report it may be avoided by using Line of Sight on it, but it's fairly hard to ensure this.
Every 30 to 60 seconds, Jan'alai will teleport everyone including himself to the center of the platform, and spawn Flame Bombs all over - after 12 seconds, they will detonate hurting everyone near 5 yards of them. Spreading out and looking for safe spots between bombs is preferred so you minimize the damage taken during this phase. Something to keep in mind is that you can't leave the main platform; if you try so you will be burned by the Fire Walls and be killed while the bombs are active.
Once you get Jan'alai to 25% he will enrage, increasing his damage and attack speed, at this point, it's recommended to unload and finish him off as quickly as possible before casualties begin to occur.
This encounter may be reset by running down the stairs and waiting for him to despawn, he will 'leash' and disappear for a few minutes, allowing for resurrections or re-positioning and re-discussing your strategy.
Once Jan'alai is down, you're free to go and fight The Hex Lord Malacrass, second to last boss before the great Zul'jin himself!
