The Eye - Attunement Guide

Welcome to our guide on attunement to The Eye, the highest level instance in the Tempest Keep.

The Eye is a 25 man raid instance that is located in the central palace of Tempest Keep in Netherstorm. Your goal in the keep is to defeat Kael'thas Sunstrider. However before you and your guildmates can accomplish this goal, you need to become attuned to the instance.

The attunement process for The Eye revolves around obtaining the Tempest Key. However, to obtain it you must complete many long and difficult quests and quest chains.
That is where this guide comes in.

NOTE: Since you can not get into any of the Heroic instances required before level 70, and since the pre-requisite quest chain is much easier with a flying mount to get around, I strongly suggest waiting until you hit level 70 to even start the attunement process and chain. You can start the pre-requisite chain earlier, but it is much easier with a flying mount, and you will get a significant amount of gold due to the exp to gold conversion.

Major Steps

To make this guide easy to follow I will lay out the major steps first and then provide details in a seperate sections. The major steps to becoming attuned are:

Complete the pre-requisite quest chain The Cipher of Damnation which starts with "The Hand of Gul'Dan" in Shadowmoon Valley.

Complete the initial Trail of the Naaru trilogy of quests:

  • Trial of the Naaru: Mercy
  • Trial of the Naaru: Strength
  • Trial of the Naaru: Tenacity

Once the inital quests are done you will be given:

  • Trial of the Naaru: Magtheridon
You will be given the Tempest Key and gain access to The Eye
