In a deal worth 5.9 billion dollars, Activision Blizzard has purchased King Digitial Entertainment; the creator of the popular and addicting Candy Crush Saga. While this may seem like an unusual deal, this may turn out to be pure genius. In a release celebrating the announcement, Activision Blizzard pointed out that this will make them the global leader in mobile gaming. This quite an achievement and nothing to shake a stick at. After completion of the deal, the companies will own some of the world's most popular game franchises, making this deal well worth the investment.

Not to mention the wider reach that this deal will provide as pointed out by Bobby Kotick who made the following statement: "With a combined global network of more than half a billion monthly active users, out potential to reach audiences around the world on the device of their choosing enables us to deliver great games to even bigger audiences than ever before".. Say what you want about Activision Blizzard and their games, but these guys know a smart business deal when they see one. Here is to long life and continued prosperity for the company and its new acquisitions.
