Blizzard has released a few updates today dealing with some questions and potential issues cropping up with the Burning Crusade.

In regard to the developers' stance on future high-end loot systems...

The devs general philosophy is to aim more towards token systems for gear and armor sets. If you were to receive reputation tokens or some such item from a boss, which could then be spent on the item of your choice, a number of good things could come of that.

You could maintain demand for dungeon loot by having it be usable for everyone.

You decrease the quantity of shards/nexus crystals being pushed into the market, because less gear is being disenchanted.

You decrease the chance of seeing an item drop, that you already have/don't want, repeatedly.

Granted, I don't think every piece of loot is going to be treated this way, but we are looking to provide players with more tailored methods of loot acquisition.

and this snippet about hoarding XP to get a flying start on the road to Level 70...

XP Gain from level 60 going into the expansion is still something that is being adjusted. The devs are well aware of many methods and routes by which players are 'stockpiling' XP and don't want to see arbitrary bursts of experience simply because someone wanted to get to 61 first. The leveling curve is being minded carefully for the expansion and already, we've made some bug fixes to that end (players no longer gain rested XP at the level cap).

It is quite possible that some of the methods mentioned and others may be eliminated, devalued or possibly left as is. The particular decisions have not been made as of yet, but they have been discussed.

Just a bit of a heads up for folks who might be hoarding AQ turnins. We're watching.

and finally some more info on flying mount speeds.

Heh. Wow. 300%? Possibly for epic flying mounts. Possibly.

Epic land mount speed is 100% of running speed added on (to the running speed).

General flying mounts are 60% of running speed added on.

Epic flying mounts will be significantly faster than all of the above, but the exact speed has not been decided, yet.

Druids will gain the flying mount riding skill with their form in the same way that warlocks and paladins gain riding skills with their summonable mounts. Druids will end up paying less for their epic flying mounts than anyone else
