Here are the terms commonly used in DDO and their meaning



Update-small
update of content and features, bug fixes- free download for subscribers



Module-large
update of content and features, bug fixes-free download for subscribers



Expansion-very
large optional content and feature update, has an additional fee
required to purchase.
