Gigantic is one of those games that deserves to do well. It's beautiful to look at, the art direction on the Hero's is incredible, it's already polished despite being in Alpha and Motiga are genuinly trying to do something different. In the process, they're also engaging with their community exceptionally well. With the financial backing of Microsoft, there's every chance they'll pull it off but they're going against stiff competition:

1. Existing MMO's that offer PvP

2. MOBA's such as HotS that tap into a casual and hardcore market

3. Not everyone wants to upgrade to Windows 10

Despite these obstacles, Gigantic is already good enough to draw people away. I've played plenty of it and whilst I'm not at liberity to give anything away, I can gaurentee you that you will enjoy the game if you enjoy Player versus Player combat and importantly, from a 3rd person perspective.

Although Motiga haven't released the fine-print on how many will be let in or how, and when the servers will be live, it's good to know there's a date for the masses.

Grüße aus Deutschland! We're excited to be at Gamescom this week in Cologne, Germany, mixing and mingling with the European players as they get their first crack at Gigantic on Windows 10 and Xbox One. When we look back on this adventure, the highlight of our trip will undoubtedly be today’s big announcement that we will soon transition Gigantic out of alpha and into closed beta on Friday, August 28, 2015!

While our alpha tests have been limited to inviting tens of thousands of testers, the transition to closed beta signals an increase in invites to the tune of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! That means a huge influx of new testers, and a much more robust testing schedule for our friends across the globe to help put Gigantic through its paces.

If you've got a few minutes, I really do recommend you sign up and hope you get in. You won't be disappointed.
