Guild Wars 2 pre-orders kicked off earlier this week and players that scooped up one of the limited Collector’s Edition boxes will get their hands on one of the collectable statues of the legendary charr warrior Rytlock Brimstone. The statue is crafted by Canadian specialty toymaker Happy Worker. A new ArenaNet dev blog offers some details about the creation of the 10-inch Guild Wars 2 statue, and what other options the team had considered before deciding on Rytlock.

We really felt that the Collector’s Edition deserved an impressive centerpiece that captured the painstaking handcrafted design of the game and was evocative of the dangerous, beautiful world of Tyria. We considered sylvari figurines, norn warriors, and asura golems, but we kept returning to one concept for the figurine – the charr. And what better charr than the baddest tribune in the Blood Legion, the legendary Rytlock Brimstone?
