[Update] As shown in a new Game Awards trailer, New World is set to release in 2020. There aren't many details on it, besides a new trailer: "Aeternum Awaits".

Legend has led generations of explorers to the supernatural frontier known as Aeternum. Rich in a powerful substance known as Azoth, which many believe to be the source of eternal life, Aeternum has beckoned both the pure of heart and the wicked to its shores.

New World, the Open World MMO set in the supernatural frontier of Terra Vitae Aeternum, and developed by Amazon Games, has been quiet lately. Its Alpha period saw mixed impressions, and their last blog post sort-of acknowledged that.

06/03/19  In September, we opened our doors to the public so that we could share what we’ve been working on with a wider audience. New World had a lot of rough edges and we weren’t sure players would embrace what we were striving to create. But, as players started venturing into New World, we started to learn along with them what was working and what wasn’t.

Over on Twitter, they've started to post teasers again, which - based on the countdown - suggests something new is coming during the Game Awards 2019.

What do you think the announcement could bring? A release date, perhaps?
