World of Warcraft players can probably expect some extra downtime next Tuesday, February 24th. Why? Patch 6.1 is set to launch in all it's glory. This is the first expansion to the Warlords of Draenor expansion and it will roll in significant changes to the game.

While many of these changes are welcome, others have managed to draw the ire of the World of Warcraft community, such as the S.E.L.F.I.E cam. Many players are questioning if the time and effort put into these “frivolous” things could have been better spent on other features in desperate need of fixing, such as tab targeting or a even better PvP experience.

Besides the new S.E.L.F.I.E cam, some notable changes players can expect to see in this patch:

  • Extended Garrison Campaign
  • Twitter Integration
  • New Blood Elf Character Models
  • Tons of Class Changes
  • Flight Path Improvements
  • Much, Much, More!

So grab a good book, make plans to go outdoors (weather permitting), or plan to assume the fetal position for several hours as this patch rolls out. As always, we can expect significant estimated down time with a potential for extended down time. Not to mention any additional problems that may or may not pop up after the servers come back online.
