Loading... putting the 'Mo' in MMOG.

First, the Ten Ton Pulse, your finger on the beating heart of the MMOG industry.

If the Top 10 isn't enough, we also show the Top 20 and Top 50 lists as well, available to everyone on our homepage. (What is Pulse?)

  1. Warhammer Online - 200 BPM
  2. World of Warcraft - 48 BPM
  3. Age of Conan - 28 BPM
  4. EVE Online - 6 BPM
  5. Star Trek Online - 5 BPM
  6. Tabula Rasa - 4 BPM
  7. Lord of the Rings Online - 3 BPM
  8. Dungeons and Dragons Online - 3 BPM
  9. Everquest II - 3 BPM

Late to the dance, but always with a full card of partners, Cody just pinged me with this,

"Ten Ton Hammer gave you Josh Drescher's E3 Blog. Ten Ton Hammer went the extra mile to give you the chance to read Paul Barnett's blog from Comic-Con. Now to complete the triumvirate, Ten Ton Hammer is proud to present our exclusive Warhammer Online blog from the Penny Arcade Expo, which has been written by Executive Producer Jeff Hickman! While Josh and Paul attempted to get your favor with epic stories and moments of humor, Jeff has pulled out all the stops and gives you straight up WAR info along with his blog. Need more? Make sure you check back in tomorrow for the continuation of our exclusive Jeff Hickman WAR Blog from PAX!"

Jeff is pulling out all of the stops to ensure that his blog has more readers than his comrades were able to achieve. He's off to a great start!

The Penny Arcade Expo is the last stop in the worldwide WAR tour.

"Things you may not know about WAR or have been afraid to ask!

1. Lairs are awesome and have yet to be really discovered and exploited by the players. Let me give you a nudge;

There is a Lair in Nordland. It is on the other side of the mountains from Grimmenhagen village, just past Salzemund. You have to pass by Salzemund and swim down the coast to find it. It, like all Lairs, has a pretty tough boss monster in it that has a chance of dropping some pretty good loot..."

Jeff drops even more secrets in his first blog from PAX, exclusively on TenTonHammer.com. Let him know how much you appreciate his time, ask questions and more, in the Jeff Hickman PAX Blog message thread.

[Note: some sites like to copy our content word for word into their forums. If you see Jeff's blog anywhere except TenTonHammer.com please let us know so we can let the dogs of legalese loose. I'll be naming names in future Loading... columns so that the miscreants can also be dealt with by you. You demolished the Rosie O'Donnell website. You can demolish these thieves as well.]

Back to happier stories, Justin Webb, a Senior Designer at Mythic Entertainment is every bit as funny and creative as his counterparts mentioned above. When Justin goes to a 'Con' he gets all unofficial and creates videos. Here are a few of my favourites.

You can view all of Justin's videos here or visit his blog at ElvishParsley.blogspot.com

Many of you have discovered our portal covering MMOGs that are aimed at children. If you haven't then let me introduce you to TenTonHamster.com. Featured today is What Parents Need To Know About La Tale, written by Hanniel Shariat just for parents. Is the game both kid and parent friendly? Hanniel has the answers. The Hamster team also has a Dofus 2.0 Preview posted.

Have a great weekend folks!

Ten Ton Hammer Epic Thread of the Day [Thanks Karen Hertzberg]

Sometimes they're funny; sometimes they're foolish; sometimes they're flaming;
sometimes they're cool. Whatever this one happens to be, it's
our Epic Thread of the Day.

====================
From our Tavern of the Ten Ton Hammer Forum
Submitted by...No one; we just liked it.

What's your most/least favorite MMOG feature?

Biglogan,
a newcomer to our forums, asked a question that got a lot of attention
from the community: what are our favorite and least-favorite MMOG
features? It seems everyone has an opinion on this (who knew?) and
couldn't resist sharing it.

Awesome Quote from the Epic Thread:

"Hands down, the Best Feature Award would have to go to LotRO -
specifically for giving players the ability to hide their shoes. You
may think I'm joking, but I'm not!

A close runner-up would be Guild Wars, for Roller Beetle Racing.

Roller.Beetle.Racing!" - Sardu
