First, the Ten Ton Pulse, your finger on the beating heart of the MMOG industry.

If the Top 10 isn't enough, we also show the Top 20 and Top 50 lists as well, available to everyone on our homepage. (What is Pulse?)

  1. Age of Conan - 200 BPM
  2. World of Warcraft - 151 BPM
  3. Lord of the Rings Online - 53 BPM
  4. EverQuest 2 - 53 BPM
  5. Warhammer Online - 30 BPM
  6. EVE Online - 28 BPM
  7. Guild Wars - 28 BPM
  8. Vanguard - 27 BPM
  9. Lineage 2 - 23 BPM
  10. Tabula Rasa - 20 BPM

World of Warcraft continues to close on Age of Conan as more visited game, with Lord of the Rings and EverQuest II in a battle for the third spot.

Adam Stotsky, the Executive Vice President, Global Brand Strategy and Market Development, SCI FI Channel (and proud owner of the longest title in the history of our interviews) chatted with Cody Bye about the in-development MMOG that will be entwined with a SCI FI Channel show. Cody, always asking the tough questions, interrogated Adam until he spilled the beans that this game would be in the sci fi genre. It makes no sense to me, the SCI FI channel creating a sci fi game, but I guess that's why I'm here and they are developing entertainment products for the masses.

"Gamers and television viewers alike should expect something like they've never seen or experienced. A triple A game with a very rich and compelling dramatic television show." -- Adam Stotsky, SCI FI Channel

SCI FI is home to such shows as Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, but that intellectual property is being developed by Cheyenne Mountain.

Battlestar Galactica would make for a great MMOG. Cylon or human? Battlestar or Base Ship? I'm not convinced that some of the mobs in World of Warcraft aren't cylons, clones so to speak, as they pop up in multiple places at one time, kind of like some game titles.

Remember that title that Blizzard was making called Ghost? Well, the Ghost Online Closed Beta Key event is on now and it has nothing to do with that game or Blizzard.

The witty and apparently MMOG savvy folks at VectorStorm Blog have delivered a game called MMORPG Tycoon. [Thanks Karen] I haven't played it, but the 'instructions' are worth the price of admission,

"Congratulations, you’re the new owner of ShadiSoft Software, the latest software development house to go have gone bust when their exciting new MMORPG failed to catch the public’s attention! With a full staff of programmers, designers and artists to obey your every whim, it’s your job to reverse the company’s fortunes and become the most popular MMORPG on the block!"

The most popular MMOG on the block happens to be World of Warcraft. If you are tired of using that crumbling keyboard and lifeless mouse to move around Azeroth then grab yourself a Wii Fit board and start leaning around like a drunken sailor.

The teams at the Major League Gaming event in San Diego didn't have Wii Fit boards, yet they still managed to put on a great show. The finals of the World of Warcraft 3 vs 3 tournament pitted Frag Dominant versus Nihilum. Congratulations to Frag Dominant on their championship win. You can apparently watch the matches, though on my Mac(s) it wouldn't work and I didn't have the patience to monkey around trying to get it to go on my Windows machine.

Monday is the day that we act like a guide dog or a guided missile or a girl guide and guide you to our newest guides. The following public service announcement has been brought to you Karen Hertzberg, the letter 'T' and the number '7'.
