Activision has rolled out two bits of interesting news since yesterday. First the publisher announced that the new division of Beachhead Studios will be developing a new digital platform services for the Call of Duty franchise in the hopes of following Blizzard's example with their Battle.net service. That same day, Activision announced that it will be launching an online microtransaction-based Call of Duty game in China.

Nothing more was revealed about the game, but investors have been calling for Activision to find a way to profit from Call of Duty's popularity in online play. This could certainly be the first step in that direction.
