Competition is the heart of fun. Amirite or amirite?

When it comes to games, especially MMOGs, all Cody "Micajah" Bye really wants is some solid and fair competition. By employing new technologies and design ideas, the newest round of MMOGs is preparing us for just that sort of ideal. Cody discusses which games are really on the right track and urges all developers to take a loot at competition before they finalize their design plans.

Competition is also the area that initially drew me to video games. Playing on my hand-me-down Odyssey2, I found that the competition on screen was just as heated as anything I did off of it. My brothers and I would maneuver our joysticks to try to blow each other up, often to no avail. While I might be planning my next move, my brother would be moving to intercept it. It was great fun, and it's carried over into every other video game I've played.
