While it's not a concept appreciated here in North America, soccer is a huge deal just about everywhere else so it makes complete sense games are made. MMOABC announced today that Ultimate Soccer Boss has entered closed beta meaning it will hopefully hit the market soon. The press release had plenty more detail available:

El Monte, CA, February 24, 2009 -- MMOABC, a leading massively-multiplayer online (MMO) portal, is proud to announce the start of closed beta testing for Ultimate Soccer Boss, an MMO Sports Manager powered by Digenetics, Inc. Ultimate Soccer Boss (USB) is the first ever free-to-play soccer manager browser game powered by Digenetics' patented technology which allows players' skills to evolve. Players interested in participating in the closed beta can sign up at www.ultimatesoccerboss.com starting February 25th through March 11th.

Unlike other sports manager games, Ultimate Soccer Boss will feature players that actually evolve their skills over time based on variables such as numbers of plays, training matches, and overall management of the club, thus resulting in a truly unique game play.

“This is a very exciting time and critical milestone for our team and development partners to showcase updated features and content for Ultimate Soccer Boss,” said MMOABC Founder and CEO Andy Tong. “It’ll be exciting to observe how thousands of managers interact and progress through the game with their own unique and evolving players. Our goal is to see where we can help improve the overall online soccer manager experience for all Ultimate Soccer Boss managers.”

”We’re excited to begin the introduction process of Ultimate Soccer Boss to soccer fans around the world,” said Digenetics CEO James Lin. “What can be more exciting than a game where players’ skills can truly evolve based on their experiences?”

“This is an important moment for soccer fans everywhere,” said Webplus CTO Brian Keller-Heikkila. “For the first time, they can experience managing an evolving team while helping us to test and improve Ultimate Soccer Boss by providing important feedback.”

Ultimate Soccer Boss updates include improved recruitment and communication features for friends and managers, tournaments and instant match mode, tactics modification, player transfer market, shop, messaging system, and management of players, employees, stadium, and finances. The move to closed beta will allow managers to have the opportunity to piece together all features and aspects of the Ultimate Soccer Boss to gain a better understanding of how the game will look and feel at launch. Closed beta testing also allows the development team to better observe overall game play, perform system stress tests, and ultimately perfect the Ultimate Soccer Boss experience.

Ultimate Soccer Boss is slated for released in spring 2009.

Spring is soon, so keep checking back for more information.
