Destiny 2: Tricky Devil Build - Devil's Ruin

What do you get when you put Devil's Ruin and Mechaneer's Tricksleeves together? A great Destiny 2 build called Tricky Devil.

The keys to this Destiny 2 build are as follows:

Mechaneer's Tricksleeves come with the perk Spring-Loaded Mounting which;

Increases Sidearm ready and reload speed.  While you're critically wounded, swapping to a Sidearm increases its damage.

To be critically wounded you must be "in the red" portion of your health bar.  The increased damage is 100%.

The build requires the mod "Protective Light", a Dawn Armor Mod which does the following;

You also want the Dawn Armor Mod Stacks on Stacks;

The key here is not only the extra Charged with light (which increases the time that Protective Light works), but that Recovery is dropped by 10.   The lower your Recovery, the longer you will stay in the high damage zone.

Other great mods for this build included Empowered Finish which gives you a charge of light when you finish a combatant.  Snapload Finisher synergizes really well with this as "Finishers generate Primary ammo and reload all your weapons." If you find yourself running out of ammo you will also want Heavy Handed, a Dawn Armor Mod that "While surrounded by enemies, defeating an enemy with a... ... Sidearm adds ammo for that weapon to your reserves."

How to Play the Tricky Devil Build

Go in, kill enemies and gain your charges of light.  As soon as you hit the "red" of your health bar, swap into Devil's Ruin and go to town.  You will survive surprisingly well with only really high damage enemies giving you any trouble.  Keep an eye on the Protective Light timer because once it drops, you will too if you aren't ready to activate it again.

Aztecross Gaming goes into detail on how he plays this build.   Brilliant.  Watch it.

This is an exciting build to play assuming you like to play this kind of style.

Try it and let us know what you think!
