It looks like the Cartographer is in the holiday spirit, and he has a gift to give to Halo 5 owners. In the latest free update, "Cartographers Gift" players will get 3 new arena maps, one new warzone map, and the much anticipated return of forge mode to Halo 5.

For the uninitiated, Forge is used to create your own Halo maps and gametypes, and has been a large part of why the Halo community remains so strong after so many iterations of the game.

The next free update to Halo 5: Guardians arrives next week and with it comes Forge, new Arena and Warzone maps, Seasons and social playlists, brand new REQs, and more. Today, we’re excited to reveal each unlockable REQ. Included are weapons, armor, and emblems you might recognize from past Halo titles, as well as some new additions.
