Hype levels rising. The red carpet is being rolled out for Halo 5 in the form of an animated series that takes players back to Reach to witness the planets fall to the Covenent one more time.

The story centers around the Spartan 2 project, specifically around the origins of the Spartan "Blue" team and how John (Master Chief) came to be the lucky spartan selected by Cortana. In a post on the official 343 blog, Franchise Development Director Frank O'Conner went into a little detail on what we can expect from the series.

This is an adaptation of the origin story of John and Blue Team that is firmly-grounded in both the novel and comics. As with any adaptation, we focused on how best to tell the story through the medium it is being retold through. Sequence is known for their powerful but lyrical visual style and so Halo: The Fall of Reach is told through the voice of those animations, through an amazing score, and through a suite of talented voice actors.

Those who purchase one of the Halo 5 Premium versions will receive the entire series with their game. If you don't want to spring for the premium copy, you'll be able to purchase the series separately from Halowaypoint a week after launch on October 27th.
