This page will always show the latest Overwatch tier list for ranked, competitive play specifically on Dorado for attacking and defending. If you want to view our "overall" Tier List, you can do so here.  This is not necessarily what a professional team would choose since they can combine  and synergize their Heros much better than those of us playing in a Pick Up Group (PUG).

If you disagree (and frankly who could appease everyone?) then by all means tell me why.  I'm open to making changes.

Tier List Descriptors

Tier 1 - These popular Heroes are used by the majority of teams, for the majority of any match. They're strong and almost always picked.

Tier 2 - Very strong Heroes that are seen in every match, but they are also regularly swapped in and out (80%-100% pickrate)

Tier 3 - Strong situational Heroes or Heroes that are played regularly, but not in every match due to team composition. Considered 'balanced' (40%-80% pickrate).

Tier 4 - These Heroes are sometimes picked and often considered good, but they require teams to form around them or they’re Heroes that rely heavily on personal ability over composition (20-40% pickrate).

Tier 5 - Considered niche, these Heroes are situational and likely should be avoided.(Less than 5% pickrate)

Attacking

Tier 1

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Ana [Guide] Support Hard Her skill ceiling is high and her kit isn't as impressive as some other Heroes.
Lucio [Guide] Support Medium  Providing mobility, passive healing, a knockback and a great ultimate for pushing the payload.
Reinhardt [Guide] Tank Easy His Barrier Field combined with a powerful Ultimate allows for coordinated pushes.  A very strong pick.

Tier 2

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Genji [Guide] Assault Hard High single target damage, mobility and an invaluable deflect. Highly effective in the right hands, especially vs snipers and healers.
Pharah [Guide] Assault Medium Amazing on a map where mobility and high perches are paramount.
Reaper [Guide] Assault Medium High close quarter damage with a powerful Ultimate makes him a constant threat from the flanks.
Roadhog [Guide]  Tank Medium His HP and sustain make him capable on this make, but not overpowered.  Push the payload and make the enemy deal with you on your terms.
Zarya [Guide] Tank Medium Solid projectile damage, an incredible Ultimate and very useful shielding for her and her team.

Tier 3

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

D.Va [Guide] Tank Medium  Good damage in close quarters, reasonable armor and two lives (human form). She's predictable but tough. Great at removing Widowmakers and Hanzos.
Mercy [Guide] Support Medium High single target healing while offering a damage boost, she also has an amazing Ultimate to revive her team.
McCree [Guide] Assault Medium Solid damage and reliable, a good all-round pick
Soldier 76 [Guide] Assault Easy A very useful ultimate (aim-bot!) and consistent, high damage. Easy to play but doesn't excel anywhere.
Winston [Guide] Tank Easy He is quickly killed and has difficulty even making it to the enemy backline.
Zenyatta [Guide] Support Medium Too squishy to spend time on the Payload and that's what this map requires with so many chokes and small killing zones.

Tier 4

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Hanzo [Guide] Defence Medium Slow damage output, but useful vision.  Better choice on D than O.
Junkrat [Guide] Defence Medium If you can find and stay on high ground he's a beast.  If not, pick another Hero.
Mei [Guide] Defence Hard Annoying to play against, but not a great "pushing" Hero.  Better on D.
Tracer [Guide] Assault Hard Mobile, but just about every other mobile Hero is a better choice as this map has a lot of vertical play.
Widowmaker [Guide] Defence Medium Few good sightlines make her unreliable on attack here.

Tier 5

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Bastion [Guide] Defence Easy Flanking opportunties where you can get into sentry are few against good players.  There are better choices.
Symmetra [Guide] Defence Easy Relatively weak shielding, static turrets and a teleporter that's not mandatory make her a niche pick.
Torbjorn [Guide] Defence Easy If you are pushing a payload a static turret isn't much of an asset.

Defending

Tier 1

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Lucio [Guide] Support Medium  Providing mobility, passive healing, a knockback and an ultimate ability that lets you take on the enemy who are on the payload.
Reinhardt [Guide] Tank Easy His Barrier Field combined with a powerful Ultimate allows for coordinated pushes against any team when defending.

Tier 2

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Hanzo [Guide] Defence Medium Slow damage output, but fantastic vision.  Ultimate can clear the payload, especially on this map with its small "track".
McCree [Guide] Assault Medium Any time the enemy has to come to you, McCree is a solid choice.
Mei [Guide] Defence Hard An absolute nuisance on this map due to its tiny "payload track".    She can hide, poke, rinse repeat.
Mercy [Guide] Support Medium High single target healing while offering a damage boost, she also has an amazing Ultimate to revive her team.
Roadhog [Guide]  Tank Medium His Hook is amazing at pulling the Offensive team out of position.  Almost forces opponent to take Reinhardt.
Widowmaker [Guide] Defence Medium In the right hands, she is a menance. Vision, high single target damage and some mobility for escaping if needed. In the wrong hands she is T5.

Tier 3

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Bastion [Guide] Defence Easy Powerful if the enemy doesn't know his position and there's lots of tight spaces on Dorado to maximise his potential. One of his better maps.
D.Va [Guide] Tank Medium  Great on defence due to her mitigation, mobility and zoning potential from her Ultimate.
Junkrat [Guide] Defence Medium Good defensive capabilities and tight corridors allow him to maximize his trap potential on Dorado.
Pharah [Guide] Assault Medium Her mobility makes it hard for the offensive team to flank your healers and snipers.
Reaper [Guide] Assault Medium High close quarter damage with a powerful Ultimate, with plenty of room for flanking on this map.
Soldier 76 [Guide] Assault Easy An very useful ultimate (aim-bot!) and consistent, high damage. Easy to play and more than able to
Zarya [Guide] Tank Medium Solid projectile damage, an incredible Ultimate and very useful shielding for her and her team.

Tier 4

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Genji [Guide] Assault Hard High single target damage, mobility and an invaluable deflect. Effective in the right hands, just poor on defence.  There are better choices.
Symmetra [Guide] Defence Easy Relatively weak shielding and the teleport isn't a huge asset on this map.
Torbjorn [Guide] Defence Easy As always, too static and to easy to counter when playing good opponents.
Tracer [Guide] Assault Hard Can disrupt the offensive back lines, especially against a Mercy.
Zenyatta [Guide] Support Medium

His Orbs aren't as good as they were, but still strong healing. He requires a skilled player and balanced composition.

Tier 5

Guide

Role

Difficulty

Description

Ana [Guide] Support Hard Her skill ceiling is high and her kit isn't as impressive as some other Heroes.
Winston [Guide] Tank Easy He is quickly killed and has difficulty even making it to the enemy backline.
